Warmer rooms, lower running costs, heat-pump ready

Upgrading radiators and heating controls improves comfort and efficiency — and correctly sized radiators are essential if you’re moving to a heat pump, which runs at lower flow temperatures than a gas boiler. RnR Renewables replaces and upgrades radiators and whole heating systems, nationwide, sizing everything around how your home actually loses heat.

Why upgrade your radiators?

Older or undersized radiators leave rooms cold, force your boiler or heat pump to work harder, and waste energy. Modern radiators heat rooms more evenly and efficiently, and pairing them with good controls means you only heat the rooms you’re using, when you’re using them.

Why radiator sizing matters for heat pumps

Heat pumps deliver heat at a lower flow temperature than boilers, so each radiator needs to give out enough heat at that lower temperature. Getting this wrong is a common cause of a heat pump that struggles in cold weather and costs more to run. We carry out a room-by-room heat-loss calculation so every radiator is correctly sized — a key part of a comfortable, efficient heat pump retrofit, and something many installers skip.

Designer and standard radiators

From practical standard panel radiators to vertical and designer styles that suit the room, we supply and fit a wide range. Where you’re upgrading for a heat pump, we’ll recommend types that perform well at lower flow temperatures, such as larger-surface or low-water-content radiators.

System flushing and balancing

On older systems we recommend a power-flush to remove the sludge that reduces efficiency and damages pumps and valves. After fitting, we balance the system so heat is distributed evenly across every radiator rather than the nearest ones hogging the flow.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need bigger radiators for a heat pump?

Often yes. Because heat pumps run cooler, radiators are sized for lower flow temperatures — we calculate exactly what each room needs at survey.

Can you match radiators to my decor?

Yes — standard, vertical and designer options are available to suit the room.

Will you flush the system?

We recommend a power-flush on older systems to protect efficiency and the new components, and we balance the system after fitting.

Can you just replace one or two radiators?

Yes — from a single radiator to a full system upgrade.

What are low-water-content or aluminium radiators?

They warm up quickly and perform well at the lower flow temperatures heat pumps use, which can make them a good choice for a retrofit; we’ll advise what suits your system.

Will new controls really save money?

Good thermostatic valves and controls let you heat only the rooms you use, when you use them, which typically reduces waste.
